What is Morehead City Market like?

Is Morehead City part of an arbitron rated market? It looks like pretty much a tourist town with large summer population and sleepy in the winter .. Is that true?

Also, would this also apply to Wilmington, NC?

thanks! josh

You are pretty much correct on Morehead but Wilmington is its own market and is much more of a self-supporting city year round. It's surrounded by tourism but has enough industry that it stays pretty busy.

No, I'm pretty much certain Morehead City is a part of the Greenville/New Bern arbitron market, a top 100 market. there's no local radio at all, I don't think, but a number of 100K FMs that come booming in from various regional cities in that market (Morehead City has one 100K FM which broadcasts to the entire market, and I think it's studio is in New Bern). There's no AM either since both of the local AMs shut down years ago. Wilmington is a much larger city with a metro population of about 300,000 but ironically the radio (and Tv market) is much, much smaller since very little of the surrounding area is covered....
