What is on WBBX on the Eastern Shore?

I usually listen in on TuneIn and they are running a spanish language format that sounds religious on the stream. On their website it still lists B106.1 and the stream is playing the oldies as normal.

I was wondering because they have kept the Sunny feed up and running. But that shouldn't have been on the air in months since WGOP 540 has applied to go to Charles County, MD. Unless 106.5 is being fed from something else?

The problem with the aggregator streams is that they're not always updated when the individual stations update their streaming sources. Tunein used to be pretty good about updating their streaming sources but in the last two years, not so much. And Mytuner usually takes its streams directly from Tunein so any mistakes on Tunein will show up there as well.

..... But that shouldn't have been on the air in months since WGOP 540 has applied to go to Charles County, MD. ....
The last FCC correspondence regarding WGOP is from late February 2026 , terminating the license:

"Dear Licensee:
Our records indicate that WGOP(AM), Pocomoke City, MD (Station), licensed to The Waters Group, LLC (Licensee), has been silent and/or operating from unauthorized locations since at least November 5, 2024. Therefore, pursuant to section 312(g) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended (Act),1 the Station’s license expired as a matter of law."

I am surprised there is not a "DD" associated with WGOP.

B106.1 seems its still oldies

Not sure what's on B106.1 currently, but it also streams on iHeart. So, if you think you're getting somebody else's stream on TuneIn, you might be able to get the correct one on iHeart. That one would probably be more likely to be correct.

Wouldn't hurt to contact the station if the stream on TuneIn is playing something different. Not sure who runs it today, but the operators a few years ago would've wanted to know.

As discussed on another thread, WKHZ is running the B106.1 feed including, by all appearances, their local commercials (at least one makes reference to that station.) I've been listening to it on occasion over the last couple weeks. I'm not close enough to pull in 106.1 over the air. Also, I'm not sure if KHZ is online anywhere. Haven't tried.

That letter did not cancel the license. It gave the licensee 45 days to show proof that the license isn't automatically terminated. If in two weeks they do not provide proof it will be deleted.

A second read proves you are correct. The letter was emitted 25 February so April 11, 2026 is that final 45 days' deadline. Let's face it. It's a goner.

As of this afternoon they are still playing oldies. I noticed a week ago the mid day jock stepped away from their DJ duties and the afternoon guy said something about he wanted to focus on his programming duties and prepare the holiday music starting Novemeber 1st. If they do change formats, I will miss the format since im a fan of oldies music and they seem to have a great variety compared to other stations I have listened too. If they could keep the gold stream going, I would be happy with that. I also noticed the signal hasn't been as strong over the last few months, at least where I live in Southern Delaware. The bleed over from 105.9 has made the station unlistenable here where it used to come in clear with out the bleed over.

I think 106.5 played mostly just 80s and this new station is playing a mix of 80s with a lot of songs from the 90s and the early 2000s and they even played Adele from 2011. This station is a hard pass for me even though im in the prime demographic for advertisers compared to the oldies format. This station is almost a clone of 94.5 KHI before they rolled back on the 2000s music a while back. I wish the new station luck.
