What is on WOAB 106.7?

If they wanna do Catholic programming, how about some Celtic Rock ? River Dance music ? Any ethnic music from Ireland or Italy. They could carry the audio from Conan on TBS this fall.

And for sports, how about live bingo games ;D

That would actually get listeners.

I have some extended family on Michigan's U.P. and bingo over the radio is actually
quite popular there (you takin' notes, Marshall?)

Back in the mid-80s, Channel 4 had a bingo-like game on, at 9 or 10 in the morning. Ann Devlin was the host (at least, one of the hosts).

Pass the collection plate!

"Do I hear an AMEN!?''

When considering WAOB (a/k/a "We Are One Body") and WPGR, one should keep in mind:

1. These are not radio people, they are lay people with a mission;
2. They (presumably) don't care about ratings;
3. They (presumably) don't care about revenue.

This is serious Catholic radio for serious Catholics, primarily serving the Diocese of Greensburg. Having been raised
Catholic, I find it somewhat nostalgic, sort of like watching the Pope say Midnight Mass from St. Peter's Basilica on
Christmas Eve. The sacred music is relaxing. (some might say sedating) I believe it is serving its purpose, though
it seems unlikely to draw a large audience.

Why Greensburg? If the music is sedating, is this the new Smooth Jazz of the new decade?

I would not denigrate the sincerity of anyone who is involved with WAOB.
But they do seem utterly clueless as to how the rough on-air presentation is
not helpful to their mission.

For the last few days, they have had a very annoying buzz/whining noise going out on open carrier on 1510.
Are they jamming WLAC?

Still open carrier but the high-pitched tone is finally gone. Is it really so hard to send someone
out to the transmitter site to pull a breaker?
