I saw this idea on the Miami board and wanted to present here just to see what we have set on Presets:

1. WQIK
2. WGNE-FM
3. WEAG-FM
4. WKQL
5. WEJZ
6. WSOS-FM

1. WQIK is has allways been a preset and will be no matter how long CC has WQIk in their hands.

2. WGNE-FM has been a preset since discovering back about five years ago that it was country. This was after they flipped the format from Top40/CHR and was still in Daytona. Now we listen to it more then any other preset.

3. WEAG-FM use to listen to a lot, but now it is not use that much and we just left it alone.

4. WKQL this preset seem to get a good mount of use. Besides it is oldies I enjoy the format. Now the only thing is that it needs improvement.

5. WEJZ use to listen to when stressed and need something relaxing.

6. WSOS-FM something that was Hot AC and is now Light AC. It is a good station no matter what it is.

Also please post if any and I mean any at all of the speculation over at CC and which stations will get axed or be moved. Dec 15 will be here next week and I want to see if we hear any rumors pop up out their at the CC building on Central Parkway. Also we should know where L&T shows up

Here are my presets (I like having them in increasing frequency order):
FM 1
1 - 89.9
2 - 93.3
3 - 94.1
4 - 95.1
5 - 96.1
6 - 96.9

FM 2
1 - 97.9
2 - 100.7
3 - 101.5
4 - 102.9
5 - 104.5
6 - 106.5

AM (strangely, not in order)
1 - 1460
2 - 930
3 - 600
4 - 690
5 - 1320
6 - 970

I don't listen to any of them, really, except 89.9 every now and then (love that "Fresh Air"), and 106.5 to hear when my wife's on the air (to check whether I should call her at that moment). I have an XM Roady 2 that gets a lot of air time in my car, as well as a DVD player that's part of my stereo for the kiddies.

Once every few weeks I listen to each station for a little while to hear if there have been any major changes or sometimes to hear how a particular person sounds, but even when I was working regularly in radio, I couldn't stand to listen to most of it. It's no affront to the talented people on the air and behind the scenes, it's the repetitive music that clogs the airwaves these days. I'd rather just turn on XM or listen to my iRiver.

As for L&T, no one knows. I was talking to a few different people I know over at CC and even they said they had no idea. The show SHOULD be on a good signal, like 107.3, but I don't see how it fits with Rooster. We shall see in about 1 1/2 months, right? It doesn't matter to me right now, because if I feel the need to hear the show, I've got XM, and they're on XM 152 from 1-4pm, or so I'm told...

My stereo has 9 presets. One I reserve to play my mp3 player through FM. The other 8 are...

89.5 (Air1, a California-based Christian "rock/hot AC" network--worth a listen no matter what your beliefs, but only a highly directional 10 watts, so get northwest of Hogan Road first!)

93.3 (Planet launched around the time I started driving, and they've been preset ever since)

94.1 (long time fan of the old SOS, but the new one is decent too, musically)

96.1 (I don't know when they got to be so hip, or maybe I'm getting older--I also like Jim Byard's voice since he was channel 17's announcer back in the day)

96.9 (I can't listen to Eagle longer than 2 or 3 songs due to the repetition, but until then, they're good)

100.7 (see Eagle--and yes, I was an Arrowhead too)

102.9 (I don't listen to Point as much anymore since they replaced the morning guy)

104.5 (a recent preset--believe it or not, I stopped listening to WFYV when Big 106.5 came around, and I just now came back, so the good ol' Southern Rock and hair band mix is sort of new again! Before that, I had either Ape or Kiss on a preset, but I just could not stand to hit the button.)

Of course, when the whole L&T thing goes down, I may change some of this. If any of these stations changes to something I don't like, I would probably add 106.5, but they're a little too light for me.

As for AM, I don't bother with presets. I just leave it on 690 for the hourly news when it's on my mind.

If I see this subject show up as an Arf phone topic, I'm going to know your sending Briggs to many emails Mburg! As for my presets, because I'm on the road most of the week I use the button, I don't remember what it's called, that sets the strongest signals! It also keeps me from ever having to be disapointed by KOOL 107.3 again!

Brian V, you come back after all this time and you don't have any unfounded rumors you feel compelled to spread? Why would I be surprised that NPR would be your 1st preset!

I've been here all along...and since I don't work in radio anymore, I rarely have anything to share. I do hear things, but because I progress and grow as a person, I've learned that spreading hearsay is a fool's path, even if much of it is true. I've apologized for it in the past. Oh, you got me, big man! :)

Why
> would I be surprised that NPR would be your 1st preset!

Well, if you actually read my post, you'd know that it's the lowest frequency station I listen to, and I put my presets in numerical order, lowest to highest frequency... More Republican conspiracy propaganda in places where it isn't necessary. Why not go back to your Bill O'Reilly "War On Christmas" broadcasts?

> The North Florida Board welcoming committee chairman

Welcoming committee implies you need to welcome me. I've been here for a long time...longer than you, if you've never had another name.
