What is SA radio missing?

Hello all... I'm by no means an expert in radio, but I am a frequent listener.  One thing I've noticed, especially as of late is that I am becoming increasingly intolerant to the music played on a majority of the stations here in San Antonio.  It seems that I hear a repeat of the same songs on an endless cycle... in my opinion, many improvements can be made in the rock department.  We have two active rock stations and two classic rock stations which play the same songs over and over when there are so many different great songs out there.  I have found myself sticking to my MP3 player, internet radio, and additional sources to get my fix.  I listen to SA radio as a last resort, and it never used to be that way.  Generally, I am open-minded to radio... I am just tired of the same old few songs year after year.

Since I know many of the radio elite read and post on this board... what do you think SA radio is missing?

It might find an audience, but will it find advertisers willing to look past the fact their ad will be running with liberal talk?

I'd settle for talk that never leans too far in either direction, doesn't focus too much on national issues over local ones and isn't a snorefest like NPR.

Ironically Rush Limbaugh complained about the same thing in his early days. He said the big advertisers were reluctant to place their ads on conservative talk shows.

But really, advertisers just want results.

Radio personalities. Like Kidd Chris from a few years ago, when K-Rock was still around.

To bad Air America went under, it was funny listening to that station.

Not True. Many (stupid) advertisers refuse to advertise on Rush, Savage, Stern, Hannity for whatever stupid reasons. Usually to make a boggus point like conservative talk is Racist.

[EDIT]

[EDIT-off topic politics]

There are a number of advertisers who steer clear of associating their brand with controversial figures-- liberal or conservative.

BTW-- the word is bogus not boggus.

In fact, MOST advertisers do. I won't drink Snapple to this day due to the Limbaugh association. ;D

And spot on about Boggus as well. That's a McAllen car dealer, I kid you not!
