WHAT IS THE LONGEST?

I've been on the beach now for almost a year. in that lenght of time, I've only had maybe a dozen calls. I am not picky where my next job is. Everything I own can fit into my truck, so I can be anywhere for a job within a day.

I know I have the talent. (At least that's what every potential employer has told me.) My posting here has had almost 100+ hits every month. Plus I post my availability on AA every couple days.

My question: What is the longest you've been on the beach? A year without a job has me worrying if I should hang up the cans.

Well lets see, I was a Jock and PD in 98-99, and then just a jock at a different station from 2000-2001, I would still be at wzzq if they hadnt had their license revoked by the FCC. So anyway, ive been on the beach for 7 or 8 years now, and i have no immediate plans to get back in radio anytime soon. The pay isnt worth it unless you are in a big market, and no matter how hard you work, management doesnt appreciate you.

Radio is a fun job, but its no way to spend your whole life now days. Do what I did and go to college for Business, law, or something in the medical field, or be a School Teacher. Right now im doing substitute teaching through the week, I get all weekends, hoilidays, and all summer off, and I do some DJing at a local bar duing weekends just for fun. The only thing im missing right now is a WIFE-Girlfriend.
