Eventhough KLLI 105.3 could be a candidate (due to DLR/P&K), They seem to run a pretty good little scene around there. That issue can easily be solved by programming the station during the 6a-3p daypart with better talent.

How about these two AM stations?

How about the "heritage" news station, KRLD, dropping down to the -2.0 range?
How about the "semi-heritage" talk station, KLIF staying below the 2.0 range?

How about the time when they both were once radio stations?

Good point. No reason why this town couldn't have
24/7 news hard hitters like WINS or WBBM. Chi-town
and the Big Apple have had 'em for ages, and all
have done relatively good ratings wise over the
years. Can't figure out why no one can make a go
of it here in DFW (we're in the Top 5). I personally
could do without the talk (unless it's live and LOCAL),
but I could really enjoy a hard hitting continuous news
station. And I'm not talking a KRLD.

KRLD was a consistent Top 10 station for many years until the mid-90s when they started trying talk in mid-days. Remember Charlie Seraphim? Now, every one of the top 10 markets has an all-news station in the top 5 range in the market except DFW. It's a shame that the long-time home of Alex Burton and a lot of other good radio newspeople now has "Spanky" McFarland and the KRLDivas to lead 1080 forward---into the abyss.
