If you are talking about DTV and not Analog/Digital in a N-1 or N+1 mix, there is a minimum spacing. For Analog and Digital mix (such as 7 analog and 8 digital) in the N+1 or N-1 setup, they can colocate on the same tower (Houston 8/9, DFW 8/9 and many other similar setups are in operation)TexasTom said:Not correct.
The FCC allows adjacent channels to co-locate (within 24 km of each other). Otherwise, adjacent channel spacing requires that DTV stations such as the channel 7/8 example that you gave be at least 110 km (approx 68 miles) apart. For cochannel, the minimum spacing is 223.7 to 273.6 km (139 to 170 miles), depending on whether the station is UHF or VHF, and which part of the country it is in.
