What is the story behind MJ Morning Show?

I assume he is no longer on the air. Just curious what happened there?

Not that I was a fan. In fact, I couldn't understand how his barely veiled right wing propaganda show stayed on the air. I never found that brand of angry narcisism entertaining.

BTW, glad Cowhead is back on. Hope his show picks up 102.5's ratings.
 
The thing that perplexes me is why CC continues to syndicate MJ into St. Louis. He doesn't even really try to be anything but a Tampa Bay show, and is completely unentertaining. But, then I guess I don't exactly fit into the teenybopper girl demo that his affilate here KSLZ is going for.

That would, umm, not quite fit with his political philosophy...considering that he does a syndicated conservative talk show on AM stations in the afternoon under his real name!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. MJ is the only morning show KSLZ has ever had and he is still consistently VERY well rated.
 
I'm not here to defend MJ, but I will say that as an avid listener, he tries to relate to the three cities in which his show is heard. For example, he talked extensively about the major storm that swept through St. Louis about 10 days ago. He also discusses news stories from St. Louis and Jacksonville, as well as those from the Tampa area.

As for the show being "unentertaining," I'm not into all the Hollywood gossip that he talks about, but I think the rest of the show is decent.

He earned the #1 spot in key demos this past Spring as well.
 
Who cares? I mean really? With the advent of Sirius and XM we have a choice not to listen to that old dried up morning show format. I was against it at first, but as I listened, the morning show, or morning drive shows the Sats have blow anything on terrestrial away. Just my opinion.
