What is the worst weather for dxn?

I found that the worst weather would be cold and rainny to me, for FM anyways, last night though it was cool // cloudy, I coudlnt even get San antonio stations even with my antenna going to San antonio 27' up. They could of been working on the towers as well, but most all of them was really weak last night, I havnt turned it on this morrning to see how much better they came in. I thought it might of been my antenna, but my other radios was having problems as well.

In My personal opinion I would have to say ice seeing as it can accumulate on antennas therefore interfere with the reception. I remember an Ice storm came blasting through the Dallas area and had an antenna that came with the house and affected the reception greatly. The antenna peformed great, it was just too big and some of the elements were distroyed, plus the mount was on my patio roof which came down two summers ago. I found that the cold can yeid bad results to a degree. Hope this is of help

Generally hot and humid is best for FM and VHF-TV tropo-scatter.... cold and clear best for AM.

I remember the summer I got cable They had came to install it and tropo was kicking that day was picking up 2 KHON very grainy lines in it, I also picked up 3 out of Las Vegas and KCBS 2 Out of LA. I have a VCR to finally record my DX with. I manage to salvage a magnavox VCR that a nieghbor down the street from me was going to throw away.<P ID="signature">______________
