What is this switch Entravision's doing?

From this link below, it looks like the Univision and UniMas stations Entravision owns will be doing some sort of channel swap. However, this article fails to explain the specifics, as in if the affiliations will swap between call letters or if the licenses will change channels. In Tampa, I don't know whether WVEA will become UniMas and WFTT as Univision or if the licenses of WVEA and WFTT will swap channels with each other.

I would go with the simplest course of action. No stations, channels or call letters change; only the programming. You'll find out for sure on Monday.

I don't know, because according to the site, it says that viewers need to rescan by that date to see the transition. I don't think affiliation switches these days require people to rescan their TV set. It also says that cable & satellite viewers won't be affected.

If it says it like that, it mainly means that only affiliations will be switched. For example, WVEA will be UniMas while WFTT becomes Univision. For Orlando, WVEN becomes UniMas and WOTF has Univision.

I bet they're doing this because UCI wants to have stronger Univision affiliations in those markets, since the current Univision affiliates are owned by Entravision. With Univision ownership, WFTT and WOTF join WLTV in becoming Univision O&O stations. But don't be surprised either if there are call sign changes, but still...

Perhaps I missed it, but what I saw was a statement that only OTA viewers would be affected. It says nothing about a rescan. Cable and satellite systems put the stations where they and the broadcast station agree to have it, and unless the stations want to change their cable and satellite positions, there would be no need to inconvenience the 85% of viewers who get their television by those means.
