What is this?

I saw this ad in R&R, anyne have any idea what it is?

Upgradeable Albany AM
License, equipment, and engineering study for upgrade, all available now. Includes property and new solid state transmitter. $240k, owner will finance. NO cash flow.
877-541-5250 (NO BROKERS)

Thanks.

I dialed the number and got Doug Stephan Productions. The message does mention the radio station for sale, but doesn't identify it.
The "no cash flow" would have to narrow it down a bit. It's got to be a station that has truly "gone dark".

The only dark AM in this area that I know of, that is still licensed is WCKL, Catskill. The other possibilities of upgradable
AMs in this area, could be WABY-1160 which can be upgraded to 50,000 watts days, and possibly WUAM-900, which was allegedly seeking to boost power to 1000 watts days, from its current licensed 250 watts. However, WUAM has been running at very low power for at least a couple of years now, simulcasting WABY....

All anyone has to do is call the number and ask.

I got thinking about it, and couldn't "no cash flow" also mean a station that was once simulcast, and is splitting from its host? I'm not all that up to date with call letters, etc-so don't flame me....but the old 1460 WWCN-I think went to Regent...aren't they Disney or something? That location and equipment (Kenwood Ave., Delmar) is certainly in that price range.....
Or maybe the 1540- whatever it became...they have new equipment, but the price seems kinda low for that location....

No supposition on our part is going to answer the question WHY-if you were selling a station- would you choose a weird post in R&R (which, BTW, I couldn't find online)- leading to a voice mail box for a talk production?

I doubt that WABY is for sale, for $240,000, it has a very local following in the area, has a decent rating, and is Anastos's bread and butter. WUAM 900 would be a more likely scenario, after having their west ave tower ripped down by sprint a few years ago, they have been X-mitting from WQAR's transmitter site using a longwire with about 90 watts. If they were going to sell a station, WUAM would be my guess, but I don't think that they would get involved in owner financing!

What other low power AM's are in Albany?
