What Is This???

I noticed this morning that a new station has popped up on 1180 AM... I am in Rockford, but have not heard any ID yet where the station is located... On my Kenwood TS 680s it is showing 10 over signal so it is somewhere close to Rockford I would guess... CC1

The 1180 you are hearing is WSQR out of Sycamore. They carry ABC's satellite soft ac-adult standards format most of the time, but also run some local and national talk and news programming as well.

This station used to be on 1560, but moved to 1180 a few months ago.

WSQR blasts into Rockford like a local during the day, but they power down around sunset. After dark, WHAM out of Rochester is usually the dominant station on 1180, although you can sometimes hear WSQR faintly under WHAM.
