Where does this station come from????

This station appeared recently, and because of it, the signal for the GREAT Q-105 from tampa is a mess now....

What is the deal with this station????

Anybody know?????

Are you talking about the Christian station on 104.5? I have searched everywhere to find out where it comes from. The commercials are for churches that are very far away. Finally after digging I found out that it comes out of Altamonte Springs. Here is the website http://www.reachfm.org/where-to-listen/ other than this web page there is really nothing else online about this station.

Apparently, Reach FM has been covering the airwaves in the whole state with LPFM stations. I don't like the fact that Christian stations simulcast the same thing on 100+ different frequencies. I think Z88.3 & one talk Christian station is all one really needs.

My question is that why doesn't anyone operate LPFM's NOT to have a Christian-based format? There used to be a Public Radio station in Ft. Myers in 88-92 that played Rhythmic tunes NOT on Top-40 radio (& a few in NYC). We need people to execute radio stations outside the box these days, but I digress.

**EDIT**
I hear them a little on 104.7, too. And that's coming from Deltona.

I am definately talking about a religious station...

What stinks about this station is that it is screwing up the frequency of Q-105....

Oh well......

Just wanted to clarify that we are talking about translators, and not LPFMs when we are referring to the ReachFM stations on 104.5 and 104.7.

In more rural areas in other states, it seems to be more of a common practice to have translators covering a few different formats based on stations they relay, but this is generally seen in areas around with mountains or other terrestrial challenges. Florida really doesn't have that. That doesn't explain why we only seem to have religious translators, but it would appear they are the only realm broadcasters in our region that care to establish a translator presence.

Uh, sorry, I thought we were talking about a REAL radio station..............Classsic Rock that really rocks.............Jacksonville's Rock 105.

Mammoth stick on a nice frequency............... ;)

As for WFYV, it's definitely not as strong here as it used to be. The signals of 104.5 and 104.7 combined are batting against it. Occasionally, the 104.5/104.7 translator combo has fallen off track on its receiving end, and actually relayed a country station from the Carolinas. Up until about a year ago, you could hear Rock 105 pretty much anytime the skies were just right, especially around Daytona and northern Seminole county.

These translators are a joke and in my opinion ReachFM is abusing the rules. In Tampa Bay we've now got one on 94.5. So much for hearing Star anymore.

last night, rock 105 over powered reach fm on 104.5. i live in altamonte springs and can get both 104.5 and 104.7 reach fm and it's real weird. they interfear with each other a lot. great idea reach fm... yeah right, come on, people have the internet these days why not just offer online streaming and forget the 100s of lp fms scattered around florida. allmost sounds like the walmart of radio in florida... we won't go there.
and as for q 105 from tampa? some night it overpowers the 104.7 out of deltona as well. some how, i believe both stations are over 10 watts. hmm...
