What is up with Matt O'Donnell tonight???

Filling in for Jim Gardner he sounds different. Almost like he is talking in monotone. Reading the news really slow, without any of his usual pep. He must be either very tired, taking some zoloft, angry he has to work tonight and is reading in slow motion/monotone on purpose, or is high on something.

His face does look red, and sweating. So thats possible. Or he could be smashed.

Actually he seems to be a little better as the program has progressed. At the top of the program he sounded really bad. Almost like a computer reading.

Matt has to tone down his act when filling in at night. Much more serious tone than the morning news. Also, Matt has no one to banter with at night, which is really his schtick in the morning. I think he's good enough to replace Jim Gardner when he retires, but he'll probably have to get in line behind Rob Jennings and Rick Williams, though Jennings is probably not far off from retirement himself.

I just about spit a mouthful of coffee on the keyboard when I read that line. Thanks for the laugh!
