Seriously, I've been noticing something for a while. Z-93 is pulling some new salsa songs from God knows where and playing it on their station. They had a song by a "Conjunto Imagen", another one by a "Rafael Jesús" or whatever his name was, and several more songs that have scratching my head trying to figure out who sings them.
Months ago they were playing a salsa version of "No me doy por vencido". I just found out now that it's by an artist called Michel el Buenón. Who the heck is that dude?
Seriously, Salsoul doesn't do this. Look at their hot 5 right now on their website: El Gran Combo, Victor Manuelle, Juan Luis Guerra, Rey Ruiz. Even Charlie Cruz people can recognize. I know new salsa production is minimal, but that's no excuse for a mess like this. Heck, I haven't even heard those songs on SBS's New York and Miami stations!
Seriously, if you're Puerto Rico's national salsa station, it's not just about deep cuts and live performances. It's about artists that people know.
