What is wrong with KBME's transmitter?

Listening to "The Proper Gentlemen" this morning, I noticed that 790's transmitter is popping off, remaining off air for about 2-3 seconds and then coming back on the air. This was happening every few minutes. It's not just going dead air, it's going off altogether. Is anyone aware of this at KBME or Clear Channel? This was at 6:30 this morning, within eyeshot of the nighttime tower array. I don't hear this during the day, and I listen to Palillo daily.

790 had no dropouts during Pallilo's show on Tuesday, other than the switch to the night pattern at 6:45pm.

However I have heard something like this on 790 in the past, when it sounded like they were switching back and forth between the day and night array during the day, as if some work was being done at the transmitter site, or the remote control was hiccuping.

I listened after work to CP's show, and like you said, there was no problem. It was odd, as if someone was flipping the on/off switch every few minutes this morning. Living off the North Belt, I get an excellent signal from 790, day and night. I'm listening right now to Rob Dibble, and haven't heard it pop off once in the last 15-20 minutes. Don't listen at night very often, so I wasn't sure if this had been going on, or if this was a new malfunction that simply nobody knew about yet. You've got to be right, must've been some maintenance work going on.

To answer the bigger question -

It's AM in a FM world.

Or it's a transmitter in an internet world.

Was I caller #50? Am I the winner?
