What is wrong with the people in Connecticut?

NBC 30 posted on its Facebook page about a change they are making to their program schedule and people on Facebook are blasting them for announcing the change. They are saying programming changes aren't breaking news. And that 12 Noon should be the News. (NBC 30's news has been on at 11AM since they added the 4th hour of Today). What's wrong with them announcing on their Facebook Page that Days of Our Lives has moved to Noon and Access Hollywood Live has moved to 1PM?

I think the programming change itself is more the issue for most of the Facebook posters. Soap fans hate change.

I suspect most of the NBC stations that take the feed of "Days Of Our Lives" at 12 Noon EDT/EST will be in the Central time zone, where NBC stations can carry it at 11 A.M. local, then follow it with local news at 12 Noon CDT/CST.

After all, 1 P.M. Eastern (when most NBC stations on the East Coast carry "Days") is 12 Noon Central, and many NBC (and other) stations in the Central time zone want local news at that hour.

I can understand why WVIT-30 would carry their local midday newscast at 11 A.M. EDT/EST: Putting a local newscast at 12 Noon would go up against WFSB-3's and WTNH-8's noon newscasts (I would think both newscasts have had strong ratings for many years), and if indeed WFSB and WTNH are that entrenched at Noon, WVIT might not be able to compete.

By going at 11 A.M., WVIT might draw more viewers.

Also, WVIT in the analog days was on UHF, whereas WFSB and WTNH were on VHF; and in the pre-cable days, that was a major disadvantage.

Tell that to people in Windham County, who would be closer to Providence and Boston, before New York City.

WFSB is promoting the Season Premiers of their CBS shows on their FB Page and people are posting the same complaints as the people complaining about NBC 30.
