What Is Wrong With WHFS-AM's Stream?

It appears that "The Big Talker 1580" has been silent on their stream for the past few days. When I access their stream, it says "buffering" and never plays. It has been this way since at least Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon, as I was unable to get my Dennis Miller fix.

The other CBS/Washington stations' streams appear to be fine.

Just tried it myself, does buffer interminably. Try clicking on the word "Broadband" & switch it to "Narrowband" plus you may have to refresh the screen/player once or twice; that seems to get it to play. Even then, it may be a bit spotty with dropouts/poor sound quality, but better than silence.

Looking at the thread title reminds me of the old "Whats wrong with this picture" puzzles. I'd say WHFS-AM is whats wrong. Really wrong. Sort of like McDonalds selling workboots or K-Mart's Fine Used Automobiles. But seriously....the CBS streams have glitches all the time. Its as if they don't care what listeners think ::)

Thanks for the tip, PJC. The narrowband stream is a little tinny, but I guess it's better than nothing.

Evolve: I get your point - for years, WHFS was known to bring listeners Green Day, as opposed to Glenn Beck. Then again, the old WBCN call letters from Boston are now parked on a similar talk station in Charlotte.

LOL Green Day and the rest of the overplayed music isn't the HFS thats missed the most. It was once a much better station but of course thats before Infinity/CBS lobotomized the 'radio for higher minds' we all knew and loved. The big corporations have ruined radio with the cookie cutter approach. Maybe the fans of Talk Radio would do better to take thier opinions somewhere more productive than to a talk show host who simply caters to advertisers and uses sensationism to get ratings. The "Decline of Radio" directly correlates to the loss of listeners due to stupid decision after stupid decision. I know Radio is geared to what Sponsors will pay for but if no one is listening then who are they advertising to?!?

I'm pleased to report the regular feed of WHFS-AM is once again active. No more "narrowband" for me! ;)
