What kind of music do Ace and TJ play?

In Myrtle Beach they are on a Hot AC station. Not a Hot AC in the sense that it is a softer top 40, but Hot AC in the sense that it was AC and no station covering the whole market is currently AC, so they are the de facto AC.

Fortunately they talk a lot, but I didn't care for the mess I was hearing in the supposedly nice quiet restaurants where I eat breakfast down there. I was thinking one of the two restaurants, which I think are co-owned, didn't play music.
 
I think a lot of times the local stations can insert music to fit the format. Seems John Boy and Billy used to have two music feeds, classic rock and country.

They still do, and oldies was one of the feeds. In Myrtle Beach they are on an oldies station but I didn't think to pay that much attention.

That early in the morning, I don't think anyone should be doing Top 40.
 
Their flagship station in Charlotte, Channel 96.1 is a mainstream CHR so they mainly play Top 40 hit music format.
