What lies ahead for 107.9

Will K-Love make it in 2006?

Isn't their LMA up this month? They've not done too well in raising funding in the State College area.

Maybe Penn State will take it & drop their holding of The Lion...

It's a 3 year LMA and to answer your question...yes, in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

I am curious as to where the rumor began that the LMA ended this month, as I know I heard that mentioned before on this board. Always seemed odd to me though seeing how it would not make a ton of sense to have such a short agreement, so the 3 year agreement seems to be much more logical (and I am inclined to think that is more correct). But I have to admit, I would not be disappointed were the agreement to end sooner seeing how the K-Love thing seems to be such a waste of a viable frequency.

Granted, its not THE BEST frequency in town...but that staticy stick gave 103 one heck of a run for its money when it was HOT 107.9. It would be quite a step up for Magnum were the BUZZ to get their mitts on it seeing how the booster in State College seems to be more of a problem than a solution (especially when the station sounds bad right in front of the studios along Atherton).

It sure would be nice to see someone put that frequency back into some good healty competition with someone again..but I guess we will have to wait for that and in the meantime the fine folks at K-Love will be praying for us all :)

Does the 2510/Forever supposed non-compete have a sunset date? I would imagine it has to; I think it would be illegal to impose a permanent non-compete, probably would violate anti-trust laws. Anyone got the scoop?
