What local radio are you listening to?

Hi everyone!

Just discovered this board and have been reading different posts. I was wondering what local radio stations everyone is listening to?

Too old for B104 ::) & too young for the hawk ,can't stand ZZO ,can't hear the bone :-[.I don't understand country ??? & liberal talk is boring :p.So I guess it's LEV. 8)

I don't listen to local radio anymore, there is just nothing on there that appeals to me, AM or FM. I get more enjoyment listening to oldies on the internet.

I've been listening to WGPA but there is a lot of talk and not enough music for my liking. Even some of the talk shows are not that great so I've been looking for a couple of different options.

I don't listen to any of the local stations except WDIY 88.1. They're all boring and bland. Currently, I flop between 98.1 WOGL along with 102.9 WMGK out of Philadelphia, and WABT 96.7 when I get North of 22.

You don't have much of a selection out here. Someone should really change WRFY to a better format: Alternative or Hip Hop. it's horrible sounding and surprisingly its a CC station. It's opposite of overproduced garbage it's underproduced garbage

you have to know when to listen to wgpa. And if you listen to wdiy on an early saturday morning and then later at night it is far from bland!

WEEU for traffic and Philles / Eagles / NFL.

WRTI (Allentown & Reading translators) especially for jazz

WWFM (Allentown translator) for classical

WDIY for NPR mornings and weekends

WVIA (Allentown translator) when WDIY or WHYY are in pledge season; WVIA's pledge schedule is (thankfullyl!) different from WHYY or WDIY

WODE only if I don't like what WMGK or WOGL are playing

Richard in Allentown

For oldies in the Lehigh Valley and coast to coast.....................WALNcableradio.com & waln digitial cable radio.

Ned Richards with STREET CORNER DOO-WOP Thursday from 8 to 11

JDRoss with Forgotten Favorites from the 50's, 60's, and the 70'S Friday from 6pm to midnight

Ned Richards NED RICHARDS SATURDAY NIGHT SOCK HOP

Don't forget the kids at Kutztown University Radio. They do a damn fine job for a tiny station. Nothing like the old station KU used to have back in the 80s which was a trainwreck. This one is professionally run and on 24/7. They do an easy rock/jazz sort of format during the day and student specialty shows at night. http://kur.kutztown.edu/

I do a lot of home-improvement stuff (painting, roofing, some electric) and often work when there's no one in the home. So I bring along the portable radio. Most of the work is along the Hazleton-Pottsville stretch. That's a little outside the LV turf, but I'm not exactly in the Wilkes-Barre book, either.

Oldies 1410 WLSH has a neat midday request show .....

Downstate WPDC 1600 for some sports. I always liked the Sporting News radio approach rather than ESPN or Fox ......

WWSM 1510 from Lebanon and their traditional country. Heck, I even ran into a polka show they do on Saturday. Pretty good stuff! Their weather is pretty close to parallel, too .....

The WRTI 99.1 relay on Pottsville in the evenings, for their jazz .....

E v e r y so often, WQZA 105.7 York, WFYY 106.5 Bloomsburg or even WLAN-FM 96.9, for some more modern stuff .....

WAZL 1490 for their 70's-ish Oldies and for their Tampa Bay Rays games when they're playing the Yankees .....

KYW for the news ......
