What Makes a Good Network News Anchor?

Below, in the ABC Vs. CBS thread, a poster replied that the difference between ABC and CBS is that the CBS anchors all sound like network news anchors but only some of the ABC anchors do...

So - my question is, what do ya'll think a good network news anchor should sound like?

A good network news anchor sounds like Harley Carnes of CBS: extremely conversational delivery, and the ability to throw in a "fun" story or two that doesn't sound forced.
