What markets have the lowest pay TV penetration?

I think Louisville would be similar. I know I have heard several people mention they have dropped cable and satellite for OTA coverage. We have several of the supplementary channels in this market (Antenna, MeTV, Ion, My Network, My Family, Bounce, and ThisTv).

I notice that Hartford/New Haven is next to last on that list. Seeing as signals comes from at least five different sites, I can see why! (3 and 18 from Avon...20, 24, 30 and 61 from Farmington...8 and 59 from Hamden...53 from Bozrah...26 from Montville.)

You also have to factor in demographics. CT is one of the wealthiest states in the country (I believe only NJ and MD are "richer"), so paying a cable bill is not as much of a hardship as in other areas.

@ANSKY 1212: Tell them to visit the north end of Hartford (any time of the day), half of New Haven or the streets of New Britain behind NewBrite Plaza. They won't like what the see! There's a reason this city is called Hard Hittin' New Britain. It's got nothing to do with our AA-level baseball club either. :(

Yeah but go to Farmington, Avon, Simsbury, etc. and you have the opposite extreme. And even the more middle class towns like Newington, Southington, or Plainville are very wealthy compared to most other parts of the country.

Yes! Also go to WestFarms Mall on the West Hartford/Farmington town line (hence the name). It's blatantly obvious that they cater to rich people of the Farmington River Valley to the west of Hartford. The only place it's worse is in most of Fairfield County (except for maybe Bridgeport). However, they're in the New York City market and have a lot of disposable income. They should have high rates of cable penetration.
