what miami needs....

I listen to miami radio quite a bit online as I live in Toronto, Canada. I find most of the stations to be dull and no variety in music....I like 93 rock as it has picked up since signing on...I would like to see big 105.9 play some classics from bands that were big in the 80's...magic 102.7 seems to play the same old stuff all the time...shuffle the playlist around....Coast 97.3 should play around with the format and make it more hot ac or something similar to star 98.7 in L.A

I think Miami could use a "movin" format.....

Actually, Miami/Ft. Lauderdale could take it a step up and bring in a dance/rhythmic format.

It is one step up from a Movin, playing the cutting edge dance along with mainstream pop and R&B remixes. You being in Toronto, think of it along the lines as an Energy 108 of today's dance music :)

Great station too!

However, the only concern I have is regarding HD radio in general (all around...not just Miami) and how it's not taking off as it should. But I do have one question though, and this could be a good argument for the format and for HD.....are people in your area actually BUYING HD radios because of Party 93.1 - HD2??

We do have a dance station, Party 931 WHDR HD-2 @ www.party931.com

This may get the topic moved to the HD forum but I think the auto manufacturers are key to increasing HD's profile. If it's not standard equipment, 9 times out of 10 new car owners will stick with what comes with the car, whether it's just a CD player or an XM/Sirius package.

i went my way out and did buy one couse of Party 931, i have 4 other close friends that want to get an HD radio couse of party. Power 96 had an HD dance channel that mysteriously dissapeared when party singned back on but the programming of Powers HD-2 station didnt do anything for me to make me go out and buy one, Party did :p

The problem here is that the car makers get incentives from the satellite folks, but iBiquity has no way to create incentives for HD as they are essentially a chip provider, not a reseller of programming to the general public. In any case, in most markets less than a third of all radio listening is in the car.
