Didn't sell 300k first week, although 290k ain't too shabby these days unless your name is Mariah or 50 Cent.

Their best days are far behind them. Even if a new boy-band boom were to happen right now, they would still be irrelevant. I think they'll be relegated primarily to AC.
______________

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll flop.

They've remixed Incomplete into a "dance" song, most likely to stir it up in the clubs.

It's not that the song is bad, it's most likely the leftover aftertaste of them being a "boy-band". People can't shake BSB as being the follow-up to New Kids on the Block.

The unsuccess might have everything to do with a CHR radio dial that's lost it's way in a world where everything is so fractured and split into little microcosoms that they "don't fit the format".

AC? I hope they just fade into irrelevence entirely. "Backstreet's Back"? Gag me.
______________

Looks like Backstreets Back

At least from the iTunes point of view (read: the new order in music). Incomplete is the number 1 song on iTunes. I'd say in the new order of things, that makes it a pretty relevant song.

Have you actually listened to their new album? If you're expecting sleepy ballads and cheesy dance tunes, you'll be disappointed because that's not BSB's sound anymore. Their new songs have a solid rock-based sound, akin to the Goo Goo Dolls, Coldplay, or Keane. In fact, I bet most hetero male rock fans would like BSB's new album at first listen -- at least until you tell them they're listening to a "boy-band".
