What? no Mash in the top 30?

Fox aired the top 30 funniest tv moments last night.

A two hour special, but...

Where was Mash? Why didn't *something* from Mash make it into the top 30?

I find that odd...

I find it odd that anyone would waste their time watching one of these insipid clip shows.

Yeah, and "Ellen" outranked "The Honeymooners" too. Not to mention how many great SNL moments were bypassed in favor of "James Brown's Hot Tub Party." That was not even one of Eddie Murphy's funniest moments on the show!

So, who were the crack-heads that comprised the "panel" that made the selections?

Probably the same ones who program TV Land.

By the looks of things, it was about surveying a very young crowd for their idea of what's funny...is that the case here?
If so, isn't it just a bit odd how *anything* black and white can make it into the top 30, but a show in color with an 11 year run can't.

The humor in M*A*S*H* was of the wry, satirical type, rather than the "Big Laffs" lowbrow humor found today. While Mash was portrayed as a comedy, it was more of a drama/light humor type. There probably wasn't anything too amusing that stood out from the series.

As far as these "clip" shows go, I hate them also. The only reason they are on the air is that they can throw them together in no time and run it cheap. "Grab a couple kinescopes of 'I Love Lucy." Oh, and that bit from the Tonight Show where the axe thrower hits the target in the crotch, people love that!!!"

Lowbrow programming for the dog days of summer.

Yes, I do agree about clip shows, we have seen the same clips over and over and over again and then FOX or whoever is airing it calls it something else like "The Top 30 Funniest Clips" or "Most Embarrassing Moments In TV History", etc. I love I Love Lucy, but how many times do we have to see Lucy and Ethel at the chocolate factory? I already know that it is funny. How about the equally funny one from the same episode where Ricky and Fred try and cook dinner and everything falls apart (the chicken falls on the floor and they wash it in scouring powder while the rice is overflowing on the stove and they use buckets, pans, etc. in getting it out)?

I like blooper shows from TV shows much better than I do clips of shows that people already have seen hundreds of times.

Political correctness at its worst. "Ellen" was funny, but it was NOT funnier than "The Honeymooners". Gimme a break.

"I Love Lucy," "Seinfeld", and "All in the Family" are the ones people usually recognize as Greatest! Sitcom! Ever! anyway.

There are quite a number of I Love Lucy shows that would fall in this category:

When Lucy tells Ricky "This Is It" when she is ready to go to the hospital to have the baby and the chaos that follows with Ricky, Fred, and Ethel before they get her there.

When Lucy dresses up as Carmen Miranda with the record going full speed.

Harpo Marx episode where both Lucy and Harpo are together in the same costume.

John Wayne episode where Lucy steals his footprints from Grueman's Chinese Theater.

Lucy stomping grapes for the Italian movie she is in and she gets in a fight with the lady.

Ricky's audition for Don Juan and Lucy botches it up and pulls off Ricky's pants.

The egg episode where Lucy stuffs her shirt with eggs and Ricky does a tango with Lucy and at the end when they clash together and they get all gooey with eggs.

The Bob Hope episode where Lucy goes to Yankee Stadium and tries to get him for the opening of Ricky's new club.

I can go on and on with plenty of I Love Lucy moments.
