What? No posts about CUMULUS buying 3 stations in Cincinnati?

There's nothing about this on R&R and AllAccess, yet.

Susquehanna's Mojo 94.9, 96.5 The Star and Warm 98 ???? I heard Cumulus could be buying some Susquehanna properties nationwide.

Nothing's been finalized..Susquehanna employees may be buying the stations.<P ID="signature">______________

It's been reported a couple of places that Cumulus' Lew Dickey could buy the Susquehanna stations *separately* from Cumulus, with the help of investment bankers.

And none of this is final yet. He's thought to have the "inside track", but nothing's been announced, despite the breathless post that started this thread...

There was a smiley at the end of OA's post. It indicates sarcasm. Not a big deal, my friend.

It wasn't that long ago that one of Infinity's big boys came to town and said they were in a buying mode in Cincinnati. Haven't heard much since, maybe someone is paying too much for the stations and sensible business people won't bite. As the news gods like to say "Stay tuned for further details..."

Didn't mean to overdo it. :)

The OP apparently heard that the sale was a done deal, or not much more than "3 stations are being sold to Cumulus". He was then surprised that we weren't talking about it, since the sale of 3 big stations in any market would be a big deal.

Now that we've bridged between what he heard and the reality...we're done! ;)

A future hint - check standard industry websites like Radio & Records, or AllAccess, first. I'm pretty sure the item about Lew Dickey was in both. Though I'm not sure it would have helped in this case, unless the OP made the connection between Dickey, his main company and Susquehanna owning the 3 stations in Cincinnati.

It could all still collapse

The problem is that all of these outlets are citing the same New York Times story. R&R says a source close to the situation won't say if it's even a done deal. Cumulus is not buying the stations, but Lew Dickey who is the COO of the company is doing it on his own (with backing, of course). There's still a slight possibility that it could all fall apart, according to R&R.

This has to be the longest, most drawn-out sale in the world. What's taking them so long?
