What? NOBODY wants to talk September ratings?

AQH, you are right about mainstream AC and Hot AC. I've always seen AC as a neutral format, suitable for just about anyone, but there's not much money to be made with high 6+ numbers. This theory also has its problems though, since I have a friend who likes KNDD, while I am more of a KQMV or KPLZ guy. Therefore, when we get together, we usually listen to Click or sometimes KPLZ. Actually come to think of it, she was only in control of the radio once when I was with her, and it was mainly KNDD and KLCK with one switch to KPLZ.

So people listen to Warm from February though October because of Christmas music? Doesn't make sense.

It does make sense, in non-ppm markets. The carry over has been proven over and over into especially the spring book. Even in ppm markets, like Portland, check how good K103 is in January through March. Just like tv lead-ins, radio lead-ins matter too, on a much wider basis.

Really? There's a lot of difference between the playlists of those two stations.

Reduce the focus on the old school names of Mainstream AC and Hot AC and you'll begin to get a better understanding between the two stations.

Also, it's not all about the music.

Yeah...a sound that feels like it's stuck in the past.

According to Station Ratings.com that posts the monthly trends, KHTP (Hot 103.7) had a 2.1 share 6+ in the September survey just released.
Down a bit from what The Mountain was doing, but they are just getting started, so they had to scare away their previous audience and with the huge load of advertising they are doing right now, and 10,000 songs in a row without ads, that will change by next trend. Funny thing, I saw the KMTT calls were being used by a station in Portland, Oregon on their September trend report.

Entercom moved the KMTT call letter here to Portland to store them. Unfortunately they gave up the KKSN call letters in the process.
