Jam'n is in the top 5 for billing (even if their power ratio is a bit lacking) in the Boston market, and yet again they're the clear #1 12+. How much longer until someone takes them on? Or will WWKX 106.3 show up in the Boston Arbs first?

At least Jammin isn't airing commercials soliciting sperm donations, like one of our local "alternative" rock stations.

What an ignorant post. You just made Rapking look like Steve Rivers.

Why is that a problem? It costs too much to live here. I'm glad there are businesses that pay top dollar for knuckle batter.

Tonight at the Middle East:

Knuckle Batter
Suicidal Bookshelf
&
Bob Hope's Liver Spots!

Oh we could do a whole thread of ACTUAL oddball band names, maybe on Off the Air board. Jello Biafra
once did a spoken word bit in which he mentioned "names for bands" and a couple he suggested,
the Dentists and Failure, actually wound up being used ("but don't use Dead Kennedys. That one is already
taken"). There have been band names like Scraping Foetus Off the Wheel and We've Got A Fuzzbox and
We're Going to Use It

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy actually inspired two band names: Vogon Poetry and Arthur Dent
foundation

Death Cab For Cutie came from a Bonzo Dog Band song (was performed by them in Magical Mystery Tour;
they're the band John and George go to see, in a tent). Toad the Wet Sprocket took their name from that
of a fictional band named in "Rock Notes", a Monty Python bit (read by Eric Idle) spoofing Rolling Stone's
Rock Notes column

I used to play that bit in college at WDJM. "Names For Bands" from "No More Cocoons" Some memorable ones:

Motorsheep!
Mondale - "picture 5 guys...all dressed like Walter Mondale"
Earth Fart!

...Jello was so brilliant. Until the skinheads beat him up.

Who cares. The radio dial has more than enough frequencies to target someone other than suburbanite Caucasian men.
