Maybe as CBS's radio network end-date approaches, Audacy will announce a deal for all its All-News and News-Talk stations, including KRLD, to affiliate with a radio news network. My guess is ABC, since that's where WTOP Washington went for a radio network to replace CBS.
It's true WINS and KYW don't use top-of-the-hour network newscasts. They are the two surviving Westinghouse All-News stations, as opposed to former CBS All-News stations, which have been carrying CBS. Since Westinghouse never used a network newscast, WINS and KYW don't to this day. WBZ Boston, also a former Westinghouse station, now owned by iHeart, doesn't either. (Actually when they are using prerecorded news overnight, both KYW and WBZ carry CBS News Radio live. But you'd never know if you didn't listen between midnight and 5 a.m.)
