What RFBurns (NYorker) feels about Worchester...

Worcester has seen better days, though it is not nearly as depressed as other cities such as Springfield or Bridgeport. But, as kms asked, why bring this here? This is the Connecticut board and - if you've been to Worcester - you would know that the city is in central Massachusetts.

While we're at it, why not post your misspelled tribute to Worcester on the HD board in response to Mr. Burns? That's where your beef is, not here. Wrong state, wrong board and wrong subject.

Uh oh! ::) ;D

Worcester is fine. Like every other New England city, they blew out most of their downtown for modernist crap buildings and parking lots. To fix those mistakes will take a while but the market is not "depressed".

Let Talk about Manchestnut N.H. !

Come on Ed, there's nothing wrong with Manch-Vegas! They've got a relatively new arena, new baseball park, and a lot of nice little pubs/bars downtown. And, a great airport too. They've been doing a lot to revitalize the city and to bring suburban people in after hours and it has been working. Not to mention that, when housing prices were high, a lot of professional people bought houses in certain sections of the city. Basically because it was affordable.

Sure it has a couple of sketchy neighborhoods, but is still far cleaner and safer than the likes of Lowell, Worcester, Hartford, Lawrence, Waterbury, etc. And, unlike those places, it's population has been growing a bit.

Yes, and it's also the largest city in northern New England. It's a separtae market from Boston in terms of radio. I just wish they'd become their own television market. :)
