What say you, David Eduardo?

Care to weigh in on everyone's foregone conclusion that this Fall will bring us "MEGA 97.1"?

Not a chance. How about Preciosa 97.1 over Labor Day weekend, though.

David, haven't heard the Preciosa concept firsthand. Can you compare/contrast it to existing Hispanic formats in DFW and Houston?

It is a large library, over 2000 songs, of the hits of Mexico of the period from the late 60s through the early 2000s. It includes regional, grupera and ballads. It is unlike anything in DFW or Houston right now.

David, what about Spanish AC, like KOVE here in Houston. It seems to do fairly well here in Houston, and although I only understand some of the lyrics, I really like the presentation. Do you think CC could be interested in that avenue in Dallas?<P ID="signature">______________

So, not anything like Houston's KROI "La Mera Mera" which seems to be a "today and yesterday" type of playlist, which seems to cover a number of genres?

They have not done an AC anywhere, and when the current administration of the Hispanic initiative meved in, they changed the one AC in the portfolio, in Tucson, to a pop hybrid (and, by the way, lost half the numbers). I don't think they like the format, perhaps because it takes time to grow as a brand and requires an airstaff that is harder to find and train.

Mera Mera is significantly current based, so not comparable. Preciosa plays no currents.

Does it compare to Concierto 850 (KEYH) in Houston?

Not at all. http://lapreciosa.com/ has the link. It is non-current based Mexican hits of the 60s to the 90's, and is fundamentally a copy of KRCD in LA which debuted this format in 2000.
