What songs do you use to test out your processor?

Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" will really test your AGC. It's a rock song with both a classical melody, and classical music dynamics.

It's halfway through this half-hour aircheck of my Part 15 AM Stereo station:

Program source: www.softrockradio.net
Processing: CRL Amigo AM
Transmitter: Panasonic multi-system AM Stereo signal generator in C-Quam mode
Modulation level: +120% / -95%
Receiver: Denon TU-680NAB
Somewhat off topic, but I just want to say that I really like your playlist and your processing. it sounds very clean and smooth!

IMHO if Phil Specter had opened sourced his "wall of sound" where the modulation meter just moved slightly on 45's sent to the station, the loudness wars would have been different on AM before the commission mandated the "brick wall" audio limiter.

Even today an audio limiter is not mandated. You're still free to ride the gain manually, as long as you don't exceed +125%/-100% on AM or ±100% on FM on "peaks of frequent recurrence", and are willing to accept the loss of loudness and coverage.
