What sports should FOX air?

Won't it be cool if FOX had the right to the NBA games?. Who knows FOX airing NBA games would push the league foward with more games on sundays and higher ratings ,maybe improve the games like they did to the NBA ,NHL & MLB.

I wish Fox didn't have the rights to the sports that they already have! Their NFL coverage is subpar when compared to that of CBS and NBC, and their MLB telecasts are even worse.

If Fox's NFC package went to another network and the MLB returned to NBC, I wouldn't be sad.

Why don't we add ARENA FOOTBALL to the GROWING list of sports in this thread which we all know FOX will NEVER touch with a 1000 ft. pole because they KNOW they will LOSE THEIR SHIRTS if they do, shall we? ::) Sheesh.....

Just sayin' that this is getting a little ridiculous

Cheers :D

I liked when Fox had the NHL. Too bad their Hockey Puck Chip was popular; I think it made watching it exciting especially when someone hit the puck hard and it generated a red streak

Fox subpar to CBS? Oddly enough I think just the opposite...Which is funny, because when they were doing the NFC and NBC the AFC, I considered CBS the better. I was excited when they got the NFL back in '98 but by then FOX had really positioned itself and I much prefer watching FOX's games over CBS.

Funny you mention about Fox's NFC package going to another network as I think one of the provisions of the new NFL TV contract is starting in 2014, the possibility may exist for FOX to telecast an all-AFC game and CBS an all-NFC game...

They should stick to the NFL, MLB, and NBA (in that order). There are not enough viewers to justify showing the other sports.

Robots, glowing basketballs, comedians on the pregame show.... ::)

I could see Fox going for NBA and/or college basketball, which combined with MLB, NASCAR, and college football would let them go to having year round sports on Saturday nights.

They'd hire Charles Barkley away from Turner? ;D

I sure don't recall any "improvement" Fox brought to the NHL. Hockey is an incredibly fast game and very difficult to televise but NBC seems to be doing a credible job so far this year. Not enough games are televised OTA though and of those there are too many "original six" matchups. Teams like the Kings, Preds, Senators and Coyotes are playing very well in the playoffs yet no one got to see them during the regular season.

Nashville and Ottawa are two markets that would send an American program exec screaming in
the opposite direction. I think though that if the Kings become established you will begin to see
them on national TV much more often.

The NHL is unfortunately full of television markets that draw this sort of reaction from the
programming division. (Tampa, Raleigh, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Buffalo, Calgary, etc. etc.)
