What Station could this be?

I was listening to 1540 AM at Night driving to work in North Georgia. The Station was broadcasting in Russian. Does anyone have an idea about what station this could be?

Isn't WNWR a daytime-only station?

There's an ethnic Canadian on 1540, I believe from Toronto.

That's probably the one you heard; a check of the CHIN program schedule indicates that they air Ukranian shows from 9 to 9:30 Eastern Monday through Friday. Their nighttime coverage map shows a lobe roughly pointed in your direction: www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=CHIN&service=AM&status=F&hours=N

CHIN has been around since 1966 with a multicultural format; it was a daytimer until the mid 1980's.

Does CHIN also ID as 104.9? The station I heard kept mentioning 104.9, with some type of foreign program on.

CHIN only Identifies itself as 1540. There is a CHIN FM at 100.7, also Ethnic but very separate programming and the 2 never simulcast....CHIN AM does also have a very low powered FM repeater at another FM frequency, but it only covers a small part of the Toronto area that the AM signal has a bit of trouble in. It is not at 104.9

Their web page does show the CHIN 1540 FM repeater (call letters CHIN-1) is on 91.9, and the Radio Station World site shows it to be running 35 watts. Another source indicates that CHIN (AM) is or has been rebroadcast on Toronto cable systems, but the reported frequency is 104.1, not 104.9.
