What station do you listen

What station do you listen to , on the road in the Upstate of SC, at home, office, not trying to reprogram any stations or brain surgery, hint hint, hint just a poll among us
I listen to 98.9 and 91.9 and 101.1 back and forth, thanks

For me it's X98.5 about 90% of the time. With the rest split between 97.7, 102.5, Charlotte's 96.1 and 95.1, and usually last on my list (unless the kids are in the car) B93.7.

WMUU is now web-only. I don't want to spend the money to do that in the car.

I don't actually go to upstate SC, though.

No, the station using the WMUU call letters is not WMUU.

I don't get to travel to or thru the up state much anymore, when I did travel up I listened to 92.5 or 100.5 when I was in SC or southern NC. Taking I 40 west I would listen to 107.7 on into and thru Tenn. and then often switch to WSM 650 as I got closer to Nashville. If I had to head toward Lexington, Ky on I 75 I would carry 107.7 most of the way thru Ky and switch to a Lexington station when I got close to Lexington. When I traveled south back in this direction from the up state I would listen to 92.5 or 100.5 till half way to Columbia and switch to 97.5 in Columbia. In more recent years I would listen to 94.3 in Columbia and switch back to my station WLRE after I got into St Mathews.

In Greenville I listen to B-93.7, 97.7 ChuckFM, X-98.5, Magic 98.9, MY 102.5. I listen to 95.1/96.1 sometimes (and if they come in well).

In Columbia, normally Magic 98.5, 104.7 WNOK, B-106.7.

In Charleston, 95SX, 101.7 Chuck FM, 105.5 The Bridge (they get most of my listening when I'm in the area). I guess I could say Y-102.5, but I haven't even tuned them in the past couple of times I've been in the area.

I can receive 95.1 and 96.1 very well north of Laurens Rd. I think Channel 96.1 is a very good CHR, and I like Ace and TJ in the morning show. And I also like 107.9 the Link, which I get fine in the house, but a bit spotty in the car. The have much improved their music mix, and I appreciate that they still have live local on air talent, such as Bob and Sheri and Matt and Ramona.

Charleston, SC: 99.3 The Box, Star 99.7, Magic 107.3

iHeart Radio: 93.9 Jamz (Honolulu, HI), V101 (Sacramento, CA), 94.1 The Beat (Savannah), 95.7 KISS (San Diego, CA), 106.5 The Beat (Richmond, VA), 103.5 KTU (New York)

Iceman, no Z93 JAMZ? :D What do you like about 94.1 THE BEAT in Savannah? Clear Channel has that station running premium choice throughout the entire day except middays.

Since moving back to SC I listen to Cat Country 93.9, Bad Dog 94.7 out of Sumter. Out of Columbia I listen to WCOS and WNOK. When I want my oldies fix I listen to Kool 102.7 and WRBK. Can't dig to deep in the radio band just yet til I can get a good directional antenna back up. Nothing like seeing it lay in the backyard in about 10 different pieces LOL. CC1

Antennacraft FM6 is a very good FM antenna. And Winegard also makes a small and large FM antenna that are very good performers. Sometimes a low noise preamp may help, but not usually helpful with HD Radio signals.

I remember when RadioShack re-sold this Antenna. I think it was the "FM-120" as they called it. They claimed up to 120 miles with this Antenna. That figure is grossly over-stated as shown here:

I am sure it is still a decent antenna though, which is easily up to task of withstanding the forces of Nature when mounted up in the air and on a pole.

Steve.

Sirius 80s on 8 and KWNZ on my Tunein App.

If you haven't listened to 106.3 Pop Fm, you should give it a try. It is an 80s 90s rhythmic AC with Mitch Craig doing the imaging and JAMS jingles. It is awesome.

When I travel in the upstate, WSSL, X98.5 are the two for me. In Charleston, the Wolf and 95SX. I also listen to the Eagle when I am in the Myrtle area along with Mix 97.7.

Channel 96.1 is the best sounding CHR station received in this area. Both from a technical standpoint, as well as programming. And I think they have increased the power of their HD Radio signal in recent months, as now it locks in much better. Stable with rabbit ears in the house, and often locks in the car. You need a good radio receiver with an antenna connector, and just a decent set of unamped rabbit ears and most Charlotte signals come in good. But south of Laurens Rd. in the car, there is sometimes early morning interference from Power 96.1 in Atlanta. But overall, I prefer 96.1 over 93.7 and 95.1.

For CHR, I definately agree. When I'm listening to CHR, I usually check 96.1 then 95.1 and as a last resort, B93.7. Although 96.1 is quicker with new music, 95.1 is a pretty good station as well. Both are better with more adult leaning pop vs rhythmic compared to 93.7. And the vast majority of the time, B is also more conservative and slow with new adds.
