What station would you bring back?

I know that Dick Zipf sadly died in an auto accident several years back.  Anyone know whatver happened to Jack Evans?  That was one of the best morning teams ever here.  I didn't realize they did so well (thanks for the ratings link, del_griffith).

BTW, it's always amazing to recall that back then WBNS-AM actually played Bad Company in high rotation ("Movin On").

I believe Jack is doing weekend work for WQYK in Tampa. You're right, Jack & Dick get overlooked a lot but during that period I liked what BNS was doing. I remember them running the "remarkable mouth" TV spot for awhile when they were "14BNS."

Fraim was still doing morning in 77-78? When did Conners take over?

I think it was 78 or 79. I can't remember which year. I lean more toward 79.

Fraim went to WRFD as morning host and GM for a short time and then went to mornings for WCOL.

I've been looking high and low for something with the Obetz Arms and Yeah Boy on it.

Like someone else noted, Dick died in an auto accident some time ago.

Jack works for WQYK a country station in Tampa. Does mid day and evening (split shift) on Saturday only.

He's been in Florida since he and Dick were let go by BNS in 84.

Their release was probably one of the few times radio personalities being fired made the front page of a major city daily. The CJ had their departure on the front page. The Dispatch had it in the radio TV section.

Some people would love to see Progressive Talk back in Columbus... Gary Richards was the last person to have a Progressive Talk format in Columbus.
He LMAed 1580 WVKO AM but lost the lease to St. Gabriel Catholic Radio back in December of 2008. His excuse was the station was sold to St. Gabriel Catholic Radio but St. Gabriel Catholic Radio is still leasing the station from Bernard Catholic Radio. it seems Gary Richards lost interest in the format because he isn't
looking to program another Progressive Talk radio station in Columbus.

Clear Channel Columbus also programed a Progressive Talk format on 1230 AM radio a few years but they refused to touch the format today.
