What the heck is up in Tyler?

Someone want to go and ask Phil Hurley what he's smoking to even allow this crap on his station?

This has got to be the one that kills CBS 19's creditibility as a broadcast station in this area.....a fricking ratings stunt is all I see.....and I see one that will backfire in this area. I'd rather watch KETK than KYTX now.

And I thought that Stormy and Sports Idol were poor ideas.......this takes the cake.

If this bit is for real, and thus far it SEEMS to be, the schlock can't get much deeper. I used to credit Hurley with a high degree of television moxy and integrity, but if he's going through with this schtick, I agree--his and the station's credibility will suffer and CBS 19 willl be first on everyone's laugh list with aftershocks of tittering, snickering, and chortle, chortle, chortle,

We should consider this possibility, It's all a promotional stunt to simply get people talking and Amber will appear in a five secind video blurb saying "GOTCHA."

No, no, no, no. it would have to go beyond that state of hype. Maybe Hurley really HAS lost it. Have the men in the white coats on stand by.

The people at Channel 7 must be rolling on the floor.

I noticed the clip had Kelli Wiese in it at the very end. I wonder if this was the final straw to make her quit???

I know college tv stations with more talent then CBS 19...It seems the people with actual talent get used the least.

Your comment meshes well with observations others have made since CBS 19 has been putting good talent on the back burner in favor of obviously much weaker on-air people who just don't seem to register well on viewers. Hurley's intent with this sex and the news sham certainly isn't going to fix any of the station's problems, and in fact will likely only deepen some of them.

Phil Hurley has really fallen off the turnip truck this time. About how far low can he go with this stunt? Sex sells, I understand, but not good for East Texas TV viewing and the values thereof. Now I've seen everything!

This whole affair begs the question, "Why Tyler." There are hundreds of markets where it would have played better. Perhaps Hurley was the only one clueless enough to fall for it? How much money is he shelling out to float this deal? Most of all, what in the world does he hope to accomplish with this lame brain stunt. It will be a flash in the pan, Amber will be gone, and Channel 19 will be remembered as the place where sex and the news bombed and certainly won't people's choice for news. Amber Smith, no one surely doubts, has impeccable journalistic credentials--something like being a graduate of the Toledo School of Broadcasting and shoe shine parlor.

Hurley not only fell off the turnip truck in coming up with this one, he obviously struck his head on a tree stump when he hit the ground.

Unfortunate to see a station which at least some people credited with being a serious undertaking stoop this low.
