What the heck is with production at Forever.

I knew there wasa reason I went to XM radio. Where I work they have the radio playing 104.9 and when the commercials come on I vomit in my mouth a little bit. when I hear the BAD Jingles the person who sing on them I say "Wow I've hear cats mate with more talent than that peron." Thery're poorly written and not really original by having to use TV theme son or "We are Family." (if your hear the spot you know what I;m talking about) Try being creative that is your job. And honestly your voice over work your trying to make up different characters with thesame voice. Why don't you find someone else to help you, because you do have a good voice but if I all I hear is the Mister Microphone radio voice I tend to believe your not doing your customer and justice to promote there business.

i agree with you 100%, Almost every jingle or commercial made by forever is so cheesy :'( I mean those J&P Auto mart ads drive me crazy, especialy the ones with Popeye or wizard of oz, They're all voiced by the same guy, along with every other ad on they'e stations. they're either uncreative or just too cheesy. I know how ya feel

It's not like the old days when Steve Clark did the GREAT Wolf Furniture Store commercials..."the doors will close, the doors will open, etc etc etc.

I think Satelite Man has had Jack do some production for him back in the days when Satelite Man was doing "regional" advertising. Last time I talked with him, he said the internet had cut in to his business to a degree and he had cut back on advertising. I guess that's the advantage of having a fry wagon, people are always hungry.

Barney the dinosaur lives in the radio production room at forever. ;)

Boy that Steve Clark did some killer production. The one that still rings in my head....
" This 'sfx:clink clink' is a can of Dutch Boy paint." Hey Clark what's that? This (SFX) is a can of Dutch Boy paint. I also miss Mr. Businessman doing their own commercials. Who could forget
John Ebersole and the Thirsty Turtle. Dave Barner ought to bring Ebersole back to do those crazy..
Heayyyyy Beer Drinkers spots.

The only purpose...the ONLY PURPOSE of production is to sell the listener. Somehow, in the general demise of radio as it continues to circle the drain, far too many people seem to think the purpose of production is to "showcase" the person who's doing it and "to hell" with the client who's paying for it!

Ten million exaggerated sound effects, female's with fake voices and twenty million edits doesn't mean jacksh-- if the spot doesn't sell the listener. Neither does repeating the phone number 3, 4, 5 or 6 times at the end.

Mr. Clark's best work was probably "the doors will be closing at 5 o'clock tonight so that --------can ready for a big sale". He closed more doors on Altoona businesses than a republican congressman!

I don't think Servello ever does a gig without first bellying up to the FryWagon. It gives his voice that smooooth....Greasy sound. The vocals just slide out. I think the reason those J & P jingles sound the way they do is because the Fryman changed oil brands in an attempt to save a buck or two. Compare the J & P to some of his older work, before Fry started using that cheap crap from Surplus City. I mean really, surplus deep fry oil!

This isn't the first time Satelite Man has shot off his mouth without knowing the facts. Some time ago I switched to Jimmy Carter Pure Peanut Oil in an attempt to get on board the better health wagon. The stuff I'm using now is better for you, lower in fat content and actually tastes better once you get used to it. I've had only two complaints since I switched brands. I will admit that Servello is a regular at the fry wagon and perhaps his voice IS getting too greasy. Let's face it, there hasn't been a really good jingle man in Altoona since Marty Reiger (it's the Sean McKay show...etc) left town over 20 years ago. For those of you who follow the trades (and I still do although I'm proprietor of a fry wagon), one of the hottest formats in the country right now is "The Jack Format" developed and named after you know you. As for getting the stuff at surplus city, I don't! If I can't get it at Walmart, I drive over to Pittsburgh.
