What to listen to in Orlando

I am going to be travelling to Orlando in a couple of months and was wondering what to listen for, what's good and bad. Any Oldies choices around Orlando since 100.3's gone? I like just about anything except rap..lol. I'd be appreciative if anyone could help fill me in!

For the most part, Oldies are on the AM dial in the Orlando metro area now. 810 WEUS covers most of the Metro area in the daytime with a nationally distibuted syndicated oldies format. You can't really get it anywhere after dark since they have to power down to protect other stations.

If you happen to be closer to the Space Coast, 1560 WINT is another AM station offering the same syndicated oldies format WEUS is playing. There is one station on the FM dial in Vero Beach (or somewhere over-and-down there) WQOL FM that calls themselves Oldies 103.7. They barely make it into Orlando, though. The same goes for 1560.

If you're closer to Marion or Lake Counties or you just have a really good radio, you'll be able to hear FM oldies on 92.9 WMFQ out of Ocala, the Big 92.9.

WQOL is no longer an oldies station. Once their contract with Super Gold and American Gold run out they will be dropping those like a bad habit. Your best bet on the Spacecoast is either 1560 WINT (although they sign off at night) or 98.5 WSBH.

I've heard WQOL before, it sounded more like a AC station to me, it was strange.

Thanks for your input...I'll be listening around and post my thoughts after my trip.

Does Oldies WRBQ/Tampa come in any in Orlando? Haven't heard that one in a long time..

It does come in quite well south and west of downtown. From there, it's kinda sketchy.

I lived about five miles north of Kissimmee in Orange County and many of the Tampa stations (89.7, 94.1, 94.9, 97.9, 101.5, 102.5, 103.5, 104.7, 105.5, and 107.3) came blasting in with near city reception on a car radio.

Radio-X

Not so much music, for a great change try Real Radio 104.1. I listen on XM radio. They used to broadcast "The Monsters In The Morning" live, Shannon Burke and "The Philips Phile" also live. Now only "Monsters" live. CC dropped Shannon Burke (only from XM) The Philips Phile is tape delayed on XM.

If you like music, They play lots of different kinds of music in the evenings and on weekends. Check them out at...

wtks.com (they even have live web-casts)

Enjoy your trip to Orlando!
