What Type Of Format Is RADIO MARIA?

When Entravision moved RADIO JOSE to KTSE-97.1, KCVR-98.9 (as well as its AM Simulcast Partner KCVR-1570) became RADIO MARIA. What is the official name of the format of Maria? (if LA TRI COLOR is Regional Mexican and RADIO JOSE is Spanish Adult Hits) I am sure David Eduardo will know the answer. :)

First, it's "José" with no "radio" in front, just like "Jack" is just, well, Jack. Just like "Recuerdo" has no "radio" in front of it, nor does "La Preciosa" or "Que Buena..."

José is Mexican adult hits, mostly regional Mexican. María is AC only gold of the last 40 years or so.

FYI Radio Maria is a Catholic religious format for more info looked it up on any search engine on the net. Radio Maria is a big Catholic radio broadcaster based out of Italy. Check out their website www.radiomaria.us

Nope. The station in question is not a Catholic station.

The station is not called "Radio Maria" but just "Maria" and is a commercial station playing Spanish language AC oldies of the 70's to the 90's. Entravision has a Mexican adult hits format called José, and María is the more Female, more AC approach.

Neither José nor María, the formats, use live talent, and each has a "station voice" who is "named" José or María who do "clever" liners betweens songs.

Neither is religion-based, neither is part of the Catholic Church, neither has "Radio" in the station name.
