What up with EMF and Clear Channel translators? 100.7 signs on.

Noticed translator W264BW which was supposed to carry WEBN's HD2 station had signed on with EMF's Air One last night after reading the following in www.radioinsight.com:

"The EMF/Clear Channel duo are working on an additional move-in in Cincinnati. 96.9 W245AJ Forest Park, OH has applied to move to downtown Cincinnati where it will rebroadcast Clear Channel’s WKFS-HD2. We’ve noticed a trend where translators to be programmed by EMF have their applications prepared by EMF’s engineers and translators prepared by Clear Channel end up being programmed by Clear Channel despite who owns the translator. This application was prepared by EMF, so we’re expecting K-Love or Air-1 to appear on 96.9 and 106.7 when that upgrade is completed. 96.9 will operate with 250 watts at 669 feet giving the translator coverage of much of the Cincinnati metro.

The article contradicts itself but Since EMF is carrying programming on 100.7, looks like the 96.9 W245AJ will carry Kiss 107's HD2 opposed to what the article says, if so will they keep Kiss's existing HD2 Channel which is Old School Hip Hop or go after THe Wiz like they did in Lexington with Urban(Wild 103.9) or something else? That translator in Lexington scored a 3.0 share in the just released Lexington book yesterday

BTW I'm in Florence and and the 100.7 signal is as strong if not stronger than WYGY's signal.

Clear Channel and EMF are still very well friends when it comes to Translator sharing... I would not base on who filed the app as who will end up on air.. There still is a lot of wheelin' and dealin' to be had with these com-band translators airing HD-2 Channels instead of EMF KLove/Air1...

Air1's website does list the translator @ 100.7 as airing Air1 programming.. So my guess is that that specific translator at 100.7 will keep pumping out Air1 for the forseeable future :)

K-Love has a weak signal on 104.3 in Northern KY where as 90.1 is strong. EMF should move K-Love to 100.7. 96.9 and 106.7 will not be heard in my area due to Lexington on 96.9 and Williamstown on 106.7.

CC and EMF have gotten pretty close in regard to translator shuffling. Has something to do with translators on the commercial band not being allowed to relay out-of-town signals. Therefore, EMF makes a deal to go on an HD2 channel of a local CC station, which in turn allows them to feed commercial band translators in that market. In return, they allow CC to air programming on a few of their spare translators (which they've got plenty of!).

What local Clear Channel station in Cincinnati is carrying EMFs HD Channels?

EMF has approval to move the 104.3 tower to Price Hill from it's current location. That should give them much better coverage.
