What was the lowest rated show ever?

I seem to recall a special primetime episode of The View back in 2002/2003 or so did terribly, drawing in less viewers than their daytime ratings and making it one of ABC's lowest-rated programs in its history.

In the late 80s or early 90s, Fox had a sitcom about a private prep school that was apparently so appallingly bad and totally unfunny, that it was canceled before it had a chance to air.

Four episodes had been filmed, and they wound up pasted together for a "TV Movie" that pops up on cable in the middle of the night during one of the two annual time changes.

It had a title something like "Montclair Prep", but I don't think it's that exact title. There's a real Montclair Prep in the L.A. area. But, along those lines.

That would be Manchester Prep, a series based on the 1999 movie Cruel Intentions. The reason Fox never aired it was because they couldn't ever get it past the censors(twin sisters have a lesbian incest relations can put really a damper on things ) So the episodes in question ended up becoming "Cruel Intentions 2" which was a straight-to-video flick.

In 1976, didn't David Brenner have a show called "Snips", where he was a hairdresser? I also remember it playing in one market on one night (probably in Philadelphia, where Mr. Brenner is from). After that it was cancelled.

I thought the show, singularly-known as "Snip", never got shown at all at any market, as I read.

I also read somewhere that the show was seen in its entirety in Australia, where it got very popular. The network that showed the series, and its audience, were very disappointed when the series closed after six episodes. Such are the vagarities of failed American programming that succeeded overseas.

Genius, I'm not disputing your info at all, but I do have one question: Did Fox genuinely think that a show with twin sisters having lesbian incest relations would get by?
