What was the reason for KVET to do what they did?

What was the reason for what KVET to decide on cutting the morning show to almost nothing worth listening to, playlist shorter, no country gold weekends. It's basically your average country station now. Are they doing much different in the ratings now? I mostly quit listening to them. Will tune in every once in a while to see what is going on, but not much any more.
 
because they were at an all time low about 6 months ago.

ranked 15th P 25-54 in the morning. PPM crushed that station. so they made changes. and have already seen improvements
 
Perhaps the low ratings six months ago actually reflected some of the unpopular personnel and programing changes that had already occurred. I can't help but think that with all the positive buzz that surrounded the station in recent years, that it must have been doing better. It seemed the whole community revolved around it and people were listening whether they liked country music.
 
it was doing bad with diary. it was doing bad with PPM. it was doing bad with Sammy. it was doing bad with just Bob Cole. it was doing bad with a lot of talk.

its been in the tank for about 2 years. For the first time since, there are signs of life
 
So they do better at playing more commercials less talk, and same playlist?
 
Interesting in this day and age of trying to stand out from ipods, internet, etc etc...KVET gets better #s by just dumbing things down, taking away personality, and playing the hits.
 
KVET has always been a big biller even when the numbers dipped. Yes, the numbers were down and yes they have come back up...a little. I don't expect that to last and I expect them to lose some of that great billing with the personalities being shoved back into the corner. By the way, its becoming pretty obvious that PPM has some serious flaws in its methodology. That should be a topic of discussion here.

From when to when? I remember them doing very well. I can't speak much about the time after Sammy was fired, because I really wasn't keyed into it. I was one of the people who thought that management really screwed the pooch on that by bringing in Bucky Godbolt. I'm guessing that was the start of the decline.
 
when i like to listen to the radio, is because of the personalties, the music, one thing i do miss is when the dj tells the listeners what the name of the song and artist's they played. weather, news and important weather alerts. radio has become a jukebox with no personalty, news,traffic,weaher updates . just play the music and commericals. i don't neccessarly want radio to turn into a ipod or internet radio.

Agreed but the sad thing is, what everyone is saying that is in the past, and will not be the same.
