What were you watching when.....?

January 28, 1986: I was watching some game show on NBC, when John Palmer, who was the newsreader on Today, interrupted the show to say that the Space Shuttle Challenger has exploded. Both my and my mom's jaws dropped when that happened.

October 17, 1989: I was watching he Wold Series, when Al Michaels said something like "I'll tell you what, we're having an earth—." and the signal was lost. I changed the channel to CBS which was showing Rescue 911, and Dan Rather broke in a few minutes later with the special report.

September 11, 2001: I was watching ABC when they broke into GMA, soon after a special report was on the whole network, and our jaws dropped when the second plane hit.
 
A check of the CBS, ABC and NBC network logs for Friday, April 5, 1968, shows that none of the three networks covered RFK's Cleveland speech live. They all, however, carried filmed reports on their evening newscast.

Wow you have a series of Local News Reports from Sacramento, San Francisco and Florida all went breaking news with bomb threats at SFO, Sacramento and Florida but at that point nobody knew these bomb threats were related to each other until the evening news just came out here in Sacramento and San Francisco and the FBI confirmed the connections.

This is the biggest bomb threat since the Unabomber back in the 1980's and 1990's/
