What will Greater Media Do in Charlotte

Greater Media is buying WBT and FM sister WLNK. WBT-AM is not the problem but WLNK I think could be. Even though the station is home base for some syndicated morning and afternoon shows the 12+ ratings are rather poor for this "Lifestyle Talk" format. They have what I think are good people but somehow it's not working as well as it should.

The question is what will Greater Media do with it? I'm sure there are other formats that would be less expensive to do.

I'm not saying that anyone should lose their job or they should scrap the whole thing but what if anything could be done?

The most recent 12+ numbers aren't that great, but I've heard that WLNK has great billing so that must come down to a nice power ratio. Maybe that was an off-book, there seem to be some pretty significant but seemingly unexplained (given the Lincoln properties are the only Charlotte stations I'm familiar with) ratings hikes for a Regional Mexican station and an Urban AC. Regardless, there have been some lineup changes at WLNK in the past year with the departure of Pam Stone in mid-2006 that could be be playing into the bad showing.

I almost think Greater Media might consider cloning WLNK's hot AC/talk hybrid format, or at least some of it's day-parts. Wouldn't something like that be a better and easier sell with WMJX and WKLB than WBOS?
