According to a new article from Broadcasting & Cable (info on the National TV board), XHUPN (what I affectionally call the KCOP clone) will join My Network TV.

They're also changing the call letters to XDTV(or XHDTV for Mexico's SCT purposes).

Entravision/Bay City made the right move here. They've got an excellent working relationship with Fox, and the station is already programming to the target audience. Rebranding won't be that tough, since they've already started doing it (by dropping UPN13 and just calling themselves TV13); and they've got XETV available for cross-promotion (if they choose to go that way).

TeleFutura is carried in S.D. on KDTF-LP/36, also owned by Entravision.
______________

By the way how far north does XHUPN 13/49 signal go, watching
with an ordinary pair of rabbit ears. And which website could
give me a picture diagram of the signal pattern. I know radio-
locator has no map diagram pictures of TV stations.

I doubt anyone at Entravision cares, as long as they can get on the cable systems in San Diego.

I don't know of any equivalent to radio-locator for television, and XHUPN is a Mexico-licensed station, in any event.
______________

What kind of ratings do XETV and XHUPN get south of the border? For that matter, do the San Diego stations get any ratings south of the border? Just curious.
