What will KSTE do post Dr. Laura?

Does anyone know what will replace Dr. Laura when her show ends in a few months? I'll put my money on Glenn Beck.

Anything is better than Dr. Turkey Neck (An old joke from the war in L.A. between Tom Leykis and the fair "doctor").

Good ole Dr. Laura is stunting and has begun new contract talks by saying she's not interested in any new contract. Ya think? Great ploy for more money on her next contract! I believe she is not going to be going anywhere. Great way to stir up her whole listening audience too! Ya think?

You can bet that the PD has already had calls and email from every single syndicator, pitching replacement shows. They'll scope out the waterfront, and then make a decision. It's possible they'll nuke her show early and just run the spots until she goes off the end of the year. It won't be surprising if a lot of bigger stations do this.

Glenn Beck is the odds on favorite to replace Laura but that show will
certainly hurt Tom Suillivan and Clear Channel stays away from political
format conflicts...but who else is there? Laura Ingraham is already on
AM 950 in Placer County...conservative capital of the world.

Why not LOCAL talent? Or do they not want to spend a nickel? ::)

Local talent? Are you kidding? It's not cost effective, and this station is useless after 10am. It makes enough to pay the light bill.

They're replacing Dr. Laura with Dennis Miller. They made that decision about two weeks ago. He won't get any ratings, either.

How CAN this station make money after A&G? What business would want to advertise on Dr. Laura or Clark Howard? I have heard local spots on The Savage Nation (BTW, I like Dr. Savage's show). Dennis Miller is great, but most people won't get him. His humor is a little deep for most listeners.

So once again, the bean counters will be happy to get less......with less! ::)

Just heard a vaguely worded promo for what replaces the "fair doctor". It states what date in Jan. the new show starts, and says to go to KSTE's website to find out who's replacing the Dr. I go to the website and it says nothing about the new show. Am I missing something? ::)

OK. Now I heard it again. It says go to KSTE.com for "clues" for who's coming in Jan. I guess they are trying to make it a game. Whatever. :-*

Dennis Miller is currently on KTKZ 1380AM from 6PM to 9PM.

A few days ago, he greeted a new Salem Communications affiliate carrying him, along with favorable words about Salem.

So apparently he'll be on twice a day in this market starting 1/3/11.
