What will KTLK air now?

I just heard Air America Radio just ceased broadcasting, so does this mean the station will flip? Or does the "all-mighty" Clear Channel have an idea?

How could this happen to a company so committed to quality, insightful and relevant talk radio programming?

Is anything safe anymore? I always thought they were successful. At least, that's what they said.

Who knew?

LARadio.com quotes Robin Bertolucci (PD) saying that they're still figuring out...replacing the AAR programming, that is.

They haven't run much AAR lately. The biggest hole is PM drive (Ron Reagan). Sister KKGN in SF is running Compass Media's Norman Goldman "temporarily". Goldman is on the air in PMD Pacific, if I remember right.

Ron Reagan is a second-rate broadcaster with little to say on his own. His show was only interesting when he had a compelling guest. Hopefully KTLK will attempt to bring back the sharp and intelligent Nancy Skinner, who did a bang-up job filling in when Randi Rhodes was between syndicators. A cheaper, less-interesting alternative would be to once again pick up the Dial Global-syndicated Ed Schultz show and air it on tape-delay in afternoon drive.

The Air America show which will be most missed will be Saturday night's Ring of Fire.
